Job summary

The City of Pearland, TX is hiring a full-time Utility Maintenance Worker to support the Utilities - Distribution and Collections Construction division. The role involves constructing and repairing water and wastewater facilities, with a starting hourly range of $18.86 to $20.41 based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent education.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
• Class I Wastewater Certificate preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Install valves, water lines, and manholes; sewer pipes with appropriate fillings and tees.
• Repair streets, sidewalks, curbs, and meters.
• Assist in measuring distances from grade stakes.
• Greet and coordinate with crew; operate basic job site equipment as directed.
• Perform maintenance on machines and trucks; ensure grease, wash, and oil changes are up to date.
• Keep job site clean and materials organized; restore ground and sod after work.
