SUMMARY

The Utility Maintenance Supervisor ( Argon/N2 Generation Plant) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of general building infrastructure and critical gas generation systems throughout the manufacturing site. This includes physical structures (walls, flooring, ceilings), worker welfare areas, and Argon/Nitrogen (Ar/ N2) generation equipment.

This position leads a team of facility technicians to ensure that the plant infrastructure is safe, functional, and well-maintained, while also supporting the uptime and performance of the Ar/N2 plant. The Supervisor coordinates internal and outsourced work activities, ensures compliance with safety and building regulations, and provides rapid response to facility-related issues

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Main tasks of the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor (Gas/Chem) should include but not limited to the following:

  • Facility Infrastructure Maintenance:
    • Oversee maintenance and repair of building structures, such as floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, roofing, and exterior finishes.
    • Manage upkeep of shared facilities including offices, restrooms, changing rooms, break areas, and general utilities (lighting, drainage, ventilation).
    • Respond to building-related issues including leaks, structural damage, electrical fixture problems, and minor plumbing faults.
  • Worker Welfare and Site Usability:
    • Ensure that restrooms, showers, lockers, and breakrooms are functional and hygienic.
    • Maintain access control systems, doors, signage, and interior fixtures used by employees and visitors.
    • Coordinate preventive inspections for wear and deterioration of plant infrastructure.
  • Argon/N2 Generation Plant Support:
    • Supervise maintenance of Argon/N2 generators, compressors, dryers, and storage tanks.
    • Monitor performance parameters (purity, pressure, flow) and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
    • Coordinate with Engineering and OEMs for troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Planning, Scheduling & Team Leadership:
    • Manage daily work assignments for technicians across both facilities and Ar/N2 systems.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for infrastructure and gas systems.
    • Maintain facility maintenance records, update facility condition reports, and document repair histories.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management:
    • Supervise outsourced vendors for specialized repair work (roofing, HVAC, painting, civil work).
    • Ensure contractor compliance with safety protocols, work permits, and scope of work agreements.
  • Safety, Compliance & Reporting:
    • Enforce safety practices related to confined spaces, working at heights, and hazardous areas.
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire regulations, and workplace safety standards.
    • Submit maintenance status reports and participate in site inspections and audits.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational Background:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical training in Electrical Technology or Instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Utility operations or compressed air system management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience is strongly preferred
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of general building maintenance (civil, electrical, minor plumbing).
  • Familiarity with Argon/Nitrogen generation principles and maintenance needs.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, facility layouts, and OEM manuals.
  • Relevant Certificate (Preferred):
  • OSHA 10/30, confined space, working at height, or general building maintenance certifications.
  • Competencies:
  • Ability to coordinate across diverse maintenance areas.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and contractor management abilities.
