TJ Maxx Distribution Center in Evansville seeks a maintenance technician responsible for preventive maintenance and minor repairs to keep systems running safely and efficiently. You will support mechanics, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks across multiple skills areas.

Minimum high school diploma with basic maintenance training and 6–12 months of experience is expected. The role offers competitive benefits and an hourly wage starting at USD 22.50–23.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher is required or preferred.
• Vocational training in basic preventative maintenance is preferred.
• Experience in preventative maintenance (6–12 months) with mechanical know-how is expected.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance and routine repairs on in-house systems (conveyor, material handling, tagging, storage, vehicles).
• Assist in troubleshooting, lubrication, adjustments and part replacement.
• Work in two or more skill areas (plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Assist mechanics with major repairs and installations; requisition supplies as needed.

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and minor building maintenance. Ensuring safe and efficient building operations while assisting maintenance mechanics in routine troubleshooting and repairs.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and routine repairs on various in-house systems to include conveyor, material handling equipment, tagging machines, storage equipment, vehicles, etc. Assists in troubleshooting and lubricates, adjusts and replaces parts.
• Performs maintenance services in two or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, heating, etc. may perform basic maintenance duties such as minor construction, landscaping, cleaning, etc.
• Assists maintenance mechanics in major equipment repairs, electrical repairs and installations in accordance with established safety procedures. Requisitions new supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Performs special projects or duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or higher
• Vocational training in basic preventative maintenance is preferred
• Six months to one year experience in a preventative maintenance capacity with demonstrated mechanical knowledge
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Be flexible with changing hours, demands, and priorities
