Job summary

Remedy Staffing in the Alexandria-Pineville area is seeking a dependable Utility Maintenance Laborer to assist with water utility maintenance, repairs, and construction projects. This is a hands-on, outdoors role with a path to permanent placement through a contract-to-hire arrangement.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime and potential weekend work during emergencies. A high school diploma, valid drivers license, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid drivers license required.
• Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Utility, construction, public works, or general labor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance, repair, and installation of water lines and utility infrastructure
• Dig, expose, repair, and backfill water lines and utility service connections
• Perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials and equipment
• Assist crews with locating, repairing, and replacing damaged water lines
• Operate hand tools and equipment safely
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of utility operations
