Job summary

Manpower, Inc. is seeking a Site Laborer in California to join our client’s water utility team. The role requires physical labor on a fixed 6am-4pm shift, with a pay rate of $23.00 per hour.

You will support maintenance of water distribution systems, meter installation and repairs, and data collection for billing accuracy. The ideal candidate will follow safety procedures, operate hand and power tools, and respond to emergencies as needed.

Job Title: Site Laborer

Pay Range: $23.00

Shift: 6am-4pm

What's the Job?

• Maintain and repair water distribution systems, including water mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, meter boxes, and related equipment.
• Install, inspect, and repair residential and commercial water meters.
• Read water meters and accurately record consumption data for billing purposes.
• Turn water service on or off according to customer requests or City policies.
• Respond to water line breaks, leaks, and emergency repairs.

What's Needed?

• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and light to heavy equipment used in water system maintenance and construction.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to water utility operations.
• Attention to detail when reading meters and recording consumption data accurately.
• Comfort working on-site and performing physical labor as required for water system maintenance and repairs.
• Reliability and readiness to support emergency response needs when water issues arise.
