Job summary

Northern Lights Locating and Inspection, Inc. is seeking a full-time Utility Locator to locate underground utilities for clients and property owners.

You will interpret utility maps, GIS data, and as-built drawings, using flags or paint to mark locations and recording findings for each 811 ticket. Applicants should have at least 2 years of locator experience, be comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time, and hold a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• 2 years locator experience required.
• Comfortable with fieldwork in varying weather and travel up to 75%+.
• Must have valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities for clients and property owners based on 811 tickets.
• Use maps, as-built civil drawings, GIS information, and locating equipment.
• Utilize flags and/or paint to mark utility locations.
• Prepare reports and memos documenting work and issues.
• Take photographs of located utilities for each ticket.
• Record locating marks via mobile app and complete required paperwork.
