The City of Chanhassen is looking for a Utility Locator to join their sewer and water utilities team. This position involves the crucial task of accurately locating city utilities and performing maintenance support on public infrastructure. Candidates must have a high school diploma and exhibit strong teamwork skills. This role offers an hourly wage within a competitive range and requires availability for a rotating on-call schedule, ensuring around-the-clock utility support.
OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE
The primary objective of this position is to perform the prompt and accurate locating of city utilities; however, this position is also an integral member of the city’s sewer and water utilities team and thus will also perform semi-skilled tasks in maintaining Chanhassen’s public utility infrastructure.
PAY
Expected Hiring Range: $28.53-$31.17 Hourly
Full Salary Range: $28.53-$39.84 Hourly

WORKING CONDITIONS
Most work is performed in a field environment involving working inside and outside of buildings and vehicles. Seasonal conditions can include excessive heat or cold, and may involve working in wet, muddy, slippery, dusty, or windy conditions. There is often exposure to moving traffic and equipment, and great attention to detail must be exercised when working in tight quarters or around other people. Normal hours are 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, M-F, but employees will need to be available for 24-hour on-call scheduling.
