A utility services provider is hiring a Utility Locator in Dallas, Texas. The primary responsibilities include accurately locating and marking underground utilities, especially fiber and copper lines. Candidates must have at least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience, good communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work under various conditions. Pay is hourly with overtime, and a company-provided vehicle is included.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have/maintain a valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Job description

As a utility locator, you will be responsible for completing all assigned tasks by their due dates. Tasks include accurately locating and marking required underground utilities, specifically fiber and copper communication lines, taking clear photos of markings, and updating supervisors of completed tasks with important notes.

Essential Functions

• Adhere to company policies.
• Ensure that all devices are properly working daily.
• Ability to read and understand Utility Drawings and maps.
• Ability to walk 3 to 5 miles a day if needed while carrying equipment.
• Ability to work in adverse conditions.
• Ability to learn new devices.
• Update supervisor/manager of any issues or problems in the field.

• 1 year computer skills (Preferred).
