Job description

Ripple Effect Consulting is seeking a Utility Locator to join our client’s field survey team. This hands-on role involves working outdoors, collecting underground utility data, and utilizing Trimble RTK/GPS and underground utility locating equipment. The Utility Locator will be responsible for reading utility maps, providing sketches of work performed, and ensuring all survey tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using electromagnetic multi-frequency locating tools (preferred, but not required).
  • Prior experience in utility locating (preferred, but not required).
  • Ability to create detailed sketches of work performed.
  • Proficiency in reading utility maps, plans, and drawings.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in team settings.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, wind).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Capability to frequently lift/move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and pride in your work.
  • Effective team player who can follow verbal instructions and contribute to group efforts.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company insurance.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
