Northern Lights Locating seeks a Training and Compliance Specialist – Locate Division to develop, deliver, and oversee training programs for utility locating practices. The role includes auditing locators for compliance and safety, and driving continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years utility locating experience required.
• Knowledge and expertise in locating multiple utilities (electric, telecom, water, sewer, gas, etc).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in reading utility maps.
• Ability to present professionally and foster a learning environment for trainees, managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training for incoming employees on locating materials and procedures.
• Deliver classroom and field training on best practices, safety protocols, and locating equipment use.
• Stay current on industry trends, technology, and regulations to keep training up to date.
• Provide one-on-one coaching to enhance locators' skills and knowledge.
• Perform field audits to assess accuracy and quality of locating work.
• Evaluate adherence to safety standards and company policies; document findings and create corrective actions.
• Maintain records of training sessions, certifications and audit results; prepare reports for management.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
