Job summary

Cable Protection Services, Inc is seeking a Virginia Lynchburg area Supervisor to lead a field team of utility locators. You will ensure safety, quality, and accuracy in detecting and documenting underground utilities while mentoring staff to protect critical infrastructure.

The role requires experience in underground locating, a RealID driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions. Travel regionally and participate in on-call rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years in underground utility locating with supervision experience.
• Valid RealID driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physically demanding field work outdoors in all weather.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work overtime/on-call.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations and supervise a team of locators.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, regulations, and 811 One-Call guidelines.
• Mentor, train, and evaluate field locators; manage performance.
• Oversee use and maintenance of field equipment (EM locators, GPR, wires).
• Coordinate shifts, overtime, and after-hours/on-call coverage.
