Job Opportunity: Utility Line Locator

What you'll do:

• Perform visual inspections of predefined construction areas and interpret utility maps to locate underground utilities such as gas, electric, cable TV, telecommunications, sewer, water lines, street lighting, and other facilities.
• Use laptops or other devices to receive, document, and close excavation notices.
• Read and interpret utility maps/prints to identify utility types and sizes.
• Communicate effectively with excavators, utility representatives, and company personnel regarding underground facilities.
• Operate electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground utilities accurately.
• Perform light excavation using shovels to expose utilities when necessary.
• Provide accurate documentation and sketches of all locates performed.
• Respond to excavation notices within established timeframes.
• Operate company vehicles safely.
• Perform manhole entries using safety equipment and devices.

Who we are looking for:

• At least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Minimum of 6 months experience locating underground utilities
• Experience in telecommunications or utility construction/maintenance
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to operate utility trucks, equipment, and hand tools safely
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google applications, or similar software
• Ability to follow instructions, produce quality work, and maintain safety standards
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed
• Availability for overtime, after-hours, weekends, and work in all weather conditions
