Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Trimmer to join our utility line clearance team in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. The office is outdoors and you will operate chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and willingness to complete required safety training.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A/B with Air Brake endorsement preferred.
• Line clearance/tree work experience or related tree care experience preferred.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs for major electric utilities.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and other objects.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as an active crew member with foreperson and ground crew.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Trimmer, preferably with climbing experience and/or a CDL, to join our team servicing the city of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
