Position: Utility Laborer

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Shift: Rotating

Pay: $22.18/hour

Responsibilities:
  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
  • Perform general clean-up duties using various tools and equipment
  • Assist in removing and installing refractory lining in plant equipment
  • Clean plant and mobile equipment, including unplugging chutes, cleaning dust collectors, and tower cyclones
  • Clean building roofs and remove snow as necessary; clean drain ditches and catch basins
  • Assist in screening grinding balls and recharging mill loads
  • Perform janitorial and groundskeeping duties
  • Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, dump trucks, skid-steers, loaders, and manlifts
  • Perform vacation relief and other duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a related manufacturing operation preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and understand safety labels and instructions
  • Willingness to learn; training provided
  • Ability to safely operate various tools and equipment
Work Environment:

Work is performed in both shop and outdoor environments with exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, noise, and weather conditions. There may be exposure to heights up to 250 feet and operation of mobile equipment involving jarring and vibration.
