Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons seeks an experienced Utility Laborer to join our underground utility construction team in Alabama. You will assist with installing water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems on heavy civil projects, including trenching, pipe setting, and grade work.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work in all weather, and a solid safety mindset. You will collaborate with site supervisors and crew to ensure quality work and project progress, with opportunities to learn

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in construction or related industry preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and working in all weather conditions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Install underground water, sewer, and storm drainpipe in accordance with project specifications and grade requirements.
  • Assist with general construction tasks, including loading and unloading materials, digging trenches, and operating hand and power tools.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and other construction staff to ensure project success.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Utility Laborer to join our underground utility construction team.
