Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Big Spring, TX is seeking a Utility Laborer to join our crew and help ensure safe, efficient jobsite performance. Responsibilities include general labor (shoveling, raking), guiding equipment, erecting and moving signs, directing traffic, and lifting heavy objects when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication; good organizational skills.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and outdoors; wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Occasionally perform general laboring duties such as shoveling and raking stone, gravel, earth, and topsoil.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
• Erect, position, and move sign packages safely and accurately per state specs.
• Move traffic control devices and lift 30 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
• Direct traffic through construction sites using proper equipment and procedures.
• Lift heavy objects as needed.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

• Occasionally performs general laboring duties, such as shoveling & raking stone, gravel, earth, and topsoil material.
• Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, & adjustment of machinery.
• Regularly erects, positions, & moves sign packages in a safe, accurate manner, adhering to state specifications.
• Move traffic control devices regularly lifting 30 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
• Occasionally direct traffic through construction sites using proper equipment and procedures.
• Occasionally lift heavy objects.
