Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Big Spring, TX is seeking a Utility Laborer to join our location. You will perform a variety of tasks as part of a crew to help ensure safe and efficient jobsite performance.

Responsibilities include general laboring, signaling operators, erecting sign packages, moving traffic control devices, directing traffic at construction sites, and lifting heavy objects. Travel and outdoor work are required.

Qualifications

• We require a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Willingness to work outside in the elements.
• Wear proper PPE when required.

Responsibilities

• Occasionally performs general laboring duties, such as shoveling and raking stone, gravel, earth, and topsoil material.
• Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
• Regularly erects, positions, and moves sign packages in a safe, accurate manner, adhering to state specifications.
• Move traffic control devices regularly lifting 30 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
• Occasionally direct traffic through construction sites using proper equipment and procedures.
• Occasionally lift heavy objects.
