Utility I – Work-Based Learning

This role is part of Mohawk IndustriesWork-Based Learning Program (WBLP)andis only open to qualifying students currently enrolled in a High School WBL program. The WBLP with Mohawk is designed to allow students the ability to learn, develop and build onto their industry related skills within Yarn Department while completing a High School curriculum.

Your Role

• Operate different kinds of machinery
• Perform custodial/janitorial tasks as needed
• Handle raw materials and final products as needed
• Fill in for other operators as needed
• Inspect for quality, malfunctions, and defects as needed
• May be required to perform inventory, clerical, and/or administrative tasks
• May be required to operate powered industrial trucks/equipment such as lift trucks, etc.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Qualifications

• Current High School Junior or Senior, at least 18 years old
• Read and write in Standard English
• Complete basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction
• Communicate in standard English to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep simple records and make reports
• Maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company and department guidelines
• Opportunities for advancement and Apprenticeship pathways upon completing High School
• Working within a leading global manufacturer with hands‑on training and mentoring
• Starting pay: $15.25 per hour
