Job summary

Imerys is seeking a Full-time Forklift Operator for an indoor warehouse in Sylacauga, Alabama. You will operate forklifts and related equipment, coordinate shipments, and maintain accurate records as part of our logistics operations.

You will communicate with drivers and internal teams, perform pre‑shipment inspections, load and unload trucks, and help maintain a safe, orderly warehouse environment with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school reading, writing and basic math skills required.
• Desirable forklift driving and equipment operation experience.
• Strong verbal, written, and listening communication.
• Ability to coordinate activities and schedules with others.
• Capable of data comparison, adjustments and safe equipment operation.

• Operate forklifts and other machinery such as truck scales, bulk trucks, bag trucks, sweeper, and forklift.
• Communicate shipment details with drivers, dispatchers, the Transportation Department, Shipping Clerk, and Customer Service.
• Assign trucks to loading docks and prioritize loading activities.
• Prepare shipping documents and conduct pre-shipment inspections.
• Unload, sign for incoming freight, and load bag trucks as required.
• Maintain shipment records and enter work orders in the CMMS system.
• Perform daily inspections of the work area, report conditions, and ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate.
