Job summary

Morgan Corp. is seeking an Utility Excavator Operator to safely operate excavators and related heavy equipment on a utility crew in Sherrills Ford, NC. The role includes trenching, pipe placement, backfilling and collaborating with pipelayers, laborers, and site supervisors.

Responsibilities cover equipment setup, pipe laser use, grade accuracy, and trench safety. Travel across the southeastern U.S. may be required, with overtime and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators on a utility crew.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the southeastern U.S.

Responsibilities

• Stand and work outdoors in direct sunlight for long periods.
• Set up and use a pipe laser.
• Lay 8-inch to 48-inch pipe inside structures and trenches.
• Work with storm drainage, water, and sewer systems.
• Shoot and maintain proper grade.
• Work with trench boxes and install/remove them safely.
• Understand trench safety and excavation practices.
