Job summary

The City of Fort Wayne – City Utilities Engineering is seeking a part-time Utility Engineering Technician I in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The schedule is up to 29 hours per week, with duties centered on GIS mapping, field data collection, and utility asset documentation.

Responsibilities include supporting backflow/cross-connection inspections, NPDES compliance data, basic surveying, and CAD-driven drafting. Ideal candidates hold an A.A.S.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.S.) in Civil Engineering Technology or completion of an equivalent course of study from a two-year college or technical school.
• The Associate's degree may be substituted with ten (10) years of relevant and approved prior experience
• Three (3) months of practical experience with word processing and spreadsheet software;
• Six (6) months of practical experience in civil drafting with CAD software, inspection, or survey work;
