Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Denver, CO is seeking an Engineer, Utility Engineering and Coordination to join our growing team. This intermediate role covers utility conflict analysis, relocation design, and stakeholder coordination on complex infrastructure projects.

You’ll work with water, wastewater, stormwater, gas, electric, and telecom utilities, building technical and project coordination skills. Requirements: Civil Engineering degree and 3–5 years’ experience; CAD tools (Civil 3D or MicroStation).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT certification or actively pursuing.
• 3–5 years of utility engineering, coordination, or transportation experience.
• Working knowledge of utility systems and coordination practices.
• Ability to read multi-disciplinary plans (roadway, drainage, structures, survey, ROW, etc.).
• Familiarity with SUE, utility policies, ROW/easement considerations, construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Support and progressively lead utility conflict analyses and relocation design.
• Prepare base maps and exhibits using survey data, SUE information, and records.
• Perform calculations related to depth, clearance, offsets, and constructability.
• Evaluate relocation solutions based on feasibility, cost, and constraints.
• Assist in developing specifications, estimates, and quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate with utility owners and stakeholders to resolve conflicts.
• Maintain conflict matrices, logs, and coordination records.
• Participate in coordination meetings and produce summaries and actions.
• Support utility agreements, permits, and agency submittals.
• Interface with clients, subconsultants, and public agencies to ensure delivery.
• Contribute to reports with findings from investigations and documentation.
