Job summary

Athens Services is seeking a utility driver to operate heavy-duty trucks such as belly dumps, dump trucks, roll-offs, and tractor-trailers in a safe, efficient manner. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections and adhere to safety rules to protect yourself and teammates.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean vehicle, reporting unsafe conditions, and assisting with trailer attachments. A valid license and six months of heavy labor experience are required, with bilingual

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class C driver license.
• Minimum six months experience in a heavy labor role.
• Acceptable driving record (H-6 printout may be requested).
• Ability to perform physical requirements with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Follow Athens Services Safety Rules.
• Report unsafe situations or service calls.
• Participate in training and safety meetings.
• Coordinate with Supervisors to improve efficiency and identify unsafe acts.
• Notify Supervisor of incidents or injuries.
• Attach/detach pup trailers and other trailer types as needed.
• Monitor gauges during operation and cover loads with tarp when required.

Job Description Summary
This Utility driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck. Trucks driven include but are not limited to belly dumps, dump truck, roll offs and semi-tractor truck with attached trailers.

Job Description

• Maintains a safe and clean working vehicle
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle
• Understands and practices operating as prescribed in Athens Services Safety Rules
• Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls before attempting service
• Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings
• Works closely with Supervisors to improve efficiencies & identify problem or unsafe acts
• Notifies Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Attaches and removes pup trailers, belly dump & side dump trailers, transfer trailers and tilt/transport trailers to truck as needed
• Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle
• Unrolls truck tarp to cover loads when required

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Class C Driver's License
• Minimum of six (6) months experience in a heavy labor role
• Acceptable driving record. (H-6 printout will be requested)
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English / Spanish
• Work experience in the waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industry
• Forklift certified

Environmental:

• Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, & noise continuously.
• Works outside only.

Salary: $26.93 per hour
