Job summary

Clean Harbors in Wichita, KS – or Tulsa, OK, is seeking a Class B Driver (Utility Driver) to provide primary route coverage for the assigned District as well as other Districts as needed to support vacation, sick time, and turnover.

This role operates Class B Tanker Truck, Box Trucks and/or Lube Delivery Truck, traveling up to three weeks per month with one week at home, and offers a strong earning potential plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL is required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Willingness to travel up to 3 weeks away from home.
• Must pass background check, drug test, and physical as required.
• Comply with OSHA respiratory protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as part of a team.
• Drive Class B trucks including tanker and box trucks.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Serve as backup driver to cover routes across the region.
• Maintain customer satisfaction at time of service.
• Ensure proper placarding and compliance with DOT requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (team atmosphere where everyone helps)
• Operate a variety of Class B trucks
• Loading and unloading of trucks
• Will serve as backup driver to cover routes when needed across the region
• Ensure customer satisfaction at time of service
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
• By position, ability to be on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other week
• By position, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Ability to travel extensively, up to 3 weeks away from home
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Previous manual labor experience
