Overview

Clean Harbors in North Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Territory Class B Driver (Utility Driver) to provide primary route coverage for the assigned district and other districts as needed to support vacation, sick time, and turnover. This position will operate a Class B tanker truck, box trucks, or lube delivery truck and will travel up to three weeks out of the month on average, with one week at the home branch.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and by acting in a safe manner.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed.
• Operate a variety of Class B trucks.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Serve as backup driver to cover routes across the region when needed.
• Ensure customer satisfaction at time of service.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements and regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and various reports.
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental, health, and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
• Engage in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL.
• Obtain Hazmat and tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Ability to travel extensively, up to three weeks away from home.
• Perform physical functions required by the job.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical where required.
• Meet facial hair standards required by OSHA's respiratory protection standard (29 CFR 1910.34) for respirator‑using positions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial driver experience.
• Hazmat and tanker endorsement.
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Previous manual labor experience.
