Job summary

Bell & Evans is seeking a driver to operate a diesel-powered tractor-trailer for transporting live poultry, materials, and finished products between company facilities. You will also jockey trailers on-site and move finished goods while adhering to DOT regulations.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, a high school diploma or GED (or 2+ years of driving experience), and strong communication and math skills. Safety, attendance, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate diesel-powered tractor-trailer to transport live poultry and materials between facilities.
• Transport finished poultry products and trailers as assigned by Manager.
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and safety policies.
• Log and document trips accurately and maintain records.
• Jockey trailers on company property and move equipment as needed.
• Operate forklift when required to load/unload goods.

JOB SUMMARY:

Drives diesel-powered tractor trailer combination to transport live poultry, transport trailers of raw materials between company facilities, jockey trailers on property, and transport finished poultry products, or any combination assigned by Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Ability to log in compliance to DOT regulations.
• Ability to pre and post trip equipment
• Excellent communication skills with ability to speak the English language.
• Proficient reading, writing skills, and simple mathematics.
• Excellent attendance and safety record.
• Must be able to follow instructions, be very flexible and work independently.
• Ability to handle road situations when they occur.
• Ability to operate forklift.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Must have a valid Class A Driver's License

High school diploma or GED equivalent; or minimum of 2 years of experience.
