Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas City, KS seeks a Utility Construction Apprentice to perform maintenance and construction on sewer lines, catch basins and manholes. Work includes replacing or extending lines and building new bases under supervision.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, sewer maintenance experience, knowledge of basic construction methods, and a valid driver’s license. Must obtain Class A CDL within 90 days of hire. $27.01/hr.
As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post‑offer criminal history background check, a physical examination and a drug screen. All employees must also submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.
Utility Construction Apprentice is manual to semi‑skilled work in the construction and repair of sewer lines. Work involves performing a variety of manual maintenance tasks related to the replacement or extension of existing sewer lines and the construction of new catch basins or manholes.
