Job summary

ACRT, Inc. is seeking energetic professionals for a Utility Capital Forester role. The position focuses on identifying and evaluating trees along utility lines and coordinating clearance crews to ensure safe, compliant vegetation management.

You will prepare client-facing reports and recommendations. The role requires forestry or related degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and readiness to work in varied outdoor conditions with flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • Must have forestry/environmental related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with GIS data collection software is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; multitasking and time management.
  • Willingness to work nights/weekends as needed; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines.
  • Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations.
  • Plan and coordinate activities of assigned tree clearance crews.
  • Discuss and negotiate access issues for line-clearance crews.
  • Liaise between clients, tree crews, and client customers.

ACRT is currently seeking energetic experienced professionals who enjoy working outdoors. Our Utility Capital Forester position is ideal for seasoned professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation or related disciplines and with experience in these fields and line of work.


Our Foresters perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines; Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations; Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews; Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues; Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two or four year forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources degree or related field OR high school diploma plus two years of UVM experience. High school diploma requirement can be waived for 5 years of UVM experience.
  • Previous Vegetation management experience preferred
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, production oriented
  • Candidate must be comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities
  • Candidate must be able to work with stakeholders, utility customers and line clearance vendors and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required
  • Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
  • Valid driver's license required
  • ISA Arborist certification preferred

Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the ACRT salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.


Salary Range Transparency
For applicants residing in Ohio, the salary range for this role is from $18 min to $24 max.
