ACRT, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility Capital Forester to inspect and evaluate trees along utility lines, and to coordinate clearance crews. You will report findings to clients, plan field work, and serve as a liaison between crews and customers.

Ideal candidates have a forestry or environmental degree, GIS experience, and strong communication skills. The role requires field work, varied terrain, and occasional nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry, environmental science, natural resources, or related field.
• HS diploma with 2 years of UVM experience.
• Vegetation management experience preferred.
• Competent in Microsoft Office.
• Able to work independently over a geographic area.

ACRT, Inc. Full Time Regular

ACRT is currently seeking energetic experienced professionals who enjoy working outdoors. Our Utility Capital Forester position is ideal for seasoned professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation or related disciplines and with experience in these fields and line of work.

Our Foresters perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines; Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations; Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews; Discuss and negotiate line‑clearance crew access issues; Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.

Minimum Requirements:

• Two or four year forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources degree or related field OR high school diploma plus two years of UVM experience. High school diploma requirement can be waived for 5 years of UVM experience.
• Previous Vegetation management experience preferred
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
• Candidate must be self‑motivated, organized, production oriented
• Candidate must be comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities
• Candidate must be able to work with stakeholders, utility customers and line clearance vendors and have excellent interpersonal skills
• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• Multi‑tasking and strong time management skills required
• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
• Valid driver's license required
• ISA Arborist certification preferred

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the ACRT salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region‑specific benefits as eligible.

Salary Range Transparency
For applicants residing in Ohio, the salary range for this role is from $18 to $24 max.
