Job summary

Terranea Resorts in Rancho Palos Verdes is seeking a Utilities/Expeditor to support the serving staff, oversee cleanliness, and maintain the restaurant, patio and bar areas during service. You will wash glassware, clear plates, set up stations, communicate orders between front and back of house, and help ensure meals are cooked and delivered promptly.

• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Deliver and serve food entrees to the guest.
• Complete closing duties, including restocking items, etc.
• Anticipate and address guests` service needs.

Job description

Overview

You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests.You will be responsible for supporting the serving staff, ensuring prompt service and overseeing the cleanliness and general upkeep of the restaurant, patio and bar areas during serving hours.

The utility person combines the position of Food Expeditor, Food and Beverage Busser/Barback. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to; washing and polishing glassware, clearing plates and glassware, wiping tables, garnish preparation and changing keg beers. You will communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house, making sure that food is cooked in the right order, quickly, and presented to the customer as beautifully as possible. The utility person will make sure the orders are being cooked in a timely fashion, so that all orders for a table are ready at the same time and make sure that once the food is cooked, you run the food to the table while it's warm and ready. You will also be required to assist and support servers to ensure prompt service and guests’ satisfaction.

Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate: $17.59/Hr.
