Job summary

Magnera Corporation is seeking a forklift operator to support daily production by safely operating forklifts and handling core materials at our Georgia facility.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for transporting materials, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with ISO safety practices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of the forklift and operate it in a safe, controlled manner.
  • Cut cores for all lines.
  • Minimize core waste by cutting all cores within specification.
  • Transport packaging supplies to lines and return to storage area.
  • Transport finished goods to loading docks and loading trailers.
  • Maintain core and corrugated storage areas in an organized manner.
  • Unload materials received at the plant from shuttles or inbound trailers.
  • Gather and dispose of all garbage in designated dumpsters and keep work areas clean.

  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply & divide).
  • Must be able to read a tape measure or rule in both standard & metric.

  • Understanding the cost of production, including cost saving ideas and implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for performing daily inspections of the forklift and operating it in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Responsible for cutting cores for all lines.
  • Responsible for minimizing core waste by cutting all cores within specification.
  • Responsible for transporting all packaging supplies to the appropriate lines, then returning them to their designated storage area.
  • Responsible for transporting all boxed materials to the appropriate lines, then returning them to the designated return area.
  • Responsible for maintaining the core and corrugated storage areas in an organized and controlled manner.
  • Responsible for transporting all finished goods to the loading docks and loading the products onto the shuttles or outbound trailers.
  • Responsible for unloading any materials that may be received at the plant from shuttles or inbound trailers.
  • Responsible for gathering and taking out all garbage and dumping it in the appropriate dumpsters.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all materials brought into the plant are clean and free of any foreign debris.
Qualification Requirements
  • Have an excellent attendance record.
  • Have an excellent safety record.
  • Familiar with best practice safety procedures.
  • Completion of ISO training.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
Physical Demands
  • Must work a 12 hour work day.
  • Requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending and reaching.
  • Requires pushing and pulling roll carts and hoists.
  • Requires lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • Requires ascending and descending ladders throughout the work day.
