Job summary

Montana-Dakota Utilities is seeking a physical, hands-on worker to perform digging, back-filling, loading and unloading, and assisting service mechanics in the field. The role requires the ability to use common hand tools and understand basic pipeline concepts, with CDL eligibility within 30 days.

Under general supervision, you will move materials, operate equipment as needed, and support routine operating duties.

Qualifications

  • High school education or its equivalent, mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • CDL required or must obtain CDL permit within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of pipeline construction.
  • Minimum of three (3) months training.

Responsibilities

  • Digs ditches, back-fills; moves materials and equipment by hand.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Assists in installing and dismantling equipment.
  • May assist Service Mechanics or Meter Repair Mechanics.
  • Must understand purpose of and have ability to use standard tools such as wrenches, stock and dies.

Job Summary

Works under general supervision; digs ditches, back‑fills; moves materials and equipment by hand; loads and unloads trucks; assists in installing and dismantling equipment; frequently acts as helper to Service Mechanics or Meter Repair Mechanics; must understand purpose of and have ability to use standard tools such as wrenches, stock and dies, etc.; must be able to qualify for and acquire commercial driver’s license; may from time to time be required to perform various routine operating duties.

Additional Information

Physical Requirement: Must be able to perform heavy work such as running a compactor and jackhammer.
