Job summary

ASR Group is seeking personnel for a packing and hand palletizing role in the Buffalo area. The position handles brown, powdered, and private label sugar in 1, 2, 7, and 50 lb bags and requires flexibility to work Fridays through Sundays, holidays, and overtime as business needs dictate.

Shifts include a starting rate of $19.00/hour with diffadds for 2nd/3rd shifts. The role offers vacation, a quarterly bonus program, merit increases, a 24/5 operation, training and growth opportunities, and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Pack finished goods into cases, place finished case onto pallet (must be able to lift 50 lbs.).
  • Check individual packages for quality issues: Back seal, End seals, Production date code on bags/boxes, bags and boxes are the same item.
  • Maintain cleanliness of production area around the assigned production line.
  • Open re-work, both daily and returned product when necessary.
  • Assist machine operator as needed (changing poly, learn basic operations to stop/start machine in event of problems).
  • Label boxes as necessary.
  • Must know the difference between edible and non-edible product.
  • Assist in the cleaning of the plant as required.
  • Must understand basics of the Metal Detectors in terms of rejected bag handling and HACCP basics.
  • Be vigilant for product contamination and report any contamination or unsafe issues.
  • Work effectively and ensure food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.
  • Report risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-spec product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager.
  • Assist in the plant when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for packing and hand palletizing brown, powdered, and private label sugar (1, 2, 7, 50 Ibs. bags).

This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

Hiring 3rd shift:
  • Starting rate at19.00/hour
  • 2nd Shift differential:$1.00/hour
  • 3rd Shift differential:$1.50/hour

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
