Purpose Of Position

The Utility will operate and/or perform a variety of tasks and job duties on a regular basis. While performing these tasks, the Utility will be expected to produce defined quantities of partsand components according to company and customer specifications.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

More specifically, the person will:

  • Operate various pieces of equipment.
  • Complete day to day tasks, vary depending on applicable work load at each trained area.
  • Demonstrate ability to read and follow prints and schedules.
  • Measure parts and components to verify accuracy according to company and customer specifications using instruments including but not limited to micrometer, caliper, and dial indicator.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance in various departments.
  • Perform housekeeping in various departments.
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
  • Perform assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
  • Participate and support manufacturing concepts of TWI, Lean, etc.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance.
Qualifications
  • Know how to read a tape measure.
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment required.
Education – Experience – Computer Skills
  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Environmental Adaptability

Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, welding coat, and grinding shield. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work with flammable materials and vibrations. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
