Job summary

AGY is seeking a Utility First Class to maintain and repair utilities equipment across our facility in Aiken, South Carolina. The role includes performing HVAC and boiler maintenance, ensuring clean work environments, and completing projects independently.

Qualified candidates will have 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a degree, work various shifts, and successfully pass background checks. Strong skills in using shop tools and equipment are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years industrial utility maintenance experience or a degree in Industrial Maintenance and Advanced HVAC.
• WorkKeys scores of at least: Workplace Observation (3), Workplace Documentation (3), Graphics Literacy (3) and Applied Technology (3).
• Be able to work various shifts and days of the week, including overtime.

Job description

As a Utility First Class, you will perform utilities maintenance and repair on equipment throughout the facility. You may also work on processes to improve efficiency.

• Performs duties assigned in the Utilities area.
• Completes projects with little or no supervision.
• Skilled in the use of all shop tools and equipment.
• Performs HVAC, carpentry, painting, masonry, and boiler maintenance duties.
• Installs, operates, repairs, overhauls, constructs & modifies any utilities equipment as needed.
• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on utilities systems, buildings, & grounds.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED Technical Certificate preferred
• Must have 5 years industrial utility maintenance experience or a degree in Industrial Maintenance and Advanced HVAC
• One–two years' experience with utility equipment such as boiler systems, HVAC, compressors, natural gas and propane systems, stem systems, sewage systems, plumbing systems, fire prevention systems, or other similar equipment systems
• WorkKeys scores of at least: Workplace Observation (3), Workplace Documentation (3), Graphics Literacy (3) and Applied Technology (3)
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, squat, twist, turn, climb, work overhead, wear required PPE, and work in a hot, confined environment
• Be able to work various shifts and days of the week, including overtime. We have 12 hour rotating shifts
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen
