Job summary

TreeHouse Foods in Cambridge, MD is seeking a full-time Utility to support production operations. You will gain proficiency in aseptic kitting, batching, and process operations, provide break relief and staffing coverage to ensure continuous production, and perform duties with adherence to schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities include material prep, equipment operation and troubleshooting, documentation, and strict compliance with safety, GMP, HACCP, and sanitation requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and aseptic practices in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read SOPs, technical documents, and production reports.
  • Must wear all required PPE in each position of work.

Responsibilities

  • Gain and maintain proficiency in Aseptic Kitting, Batching, and Process Operations.
  • Provide break relief, vacation coverage, and staffing support across all assigned operational areas to ensure continuous production.
  • Perform all duties associated with kitting, batching, and process operations per procedures, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Gather, verify, stage, weigh, measure, and prepare materials and ingredients required for production.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot processing equipment while keeping critical process parameters within spec.
  • Complete all production, quality, inventory, and operational documentation accurately and timely.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, GMP, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, and quality requirements.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate equipment, process, safety, or quality concerns as appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspection-ready work environment.
  • Support production goals, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence.
  • Adapt to changing business needs by rotating between functional areas and shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all production, quality, inventory, and operational documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow and comply with all safety, food safety, GMP, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, and quality requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with operators, supervisors, maintenance, quality, and other departments to support safe and efficient plant operations.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and aseptic practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret SOPs, technical documents, and production reports.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment in each position of work.
  • Basic math and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and commitment to product quality.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, carry up to 50lbs.
