Qualifications

• 2+ years in industrial/ facilities maintenance or related technical environments.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

• Comfortable performing routine inspections, equipment monitoring and maintenance rounds.
• Ability to safely troubleshoot equipment issues and elevate when necessary.

• Ability to work independently while learning from senior technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain facility utility systems to support safe and reliable facility operations.
• Perform routine rounds of utility equipment and document operating conditions.
• Respond to utility alarms, equipment issues, and service interruptions.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility system problems.
• Execute preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities.
• Perform routine equipment care including lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, inspections, level checks, and minor adjustments.
• Maintain utility system logs, alarm records, operating parameters, and maintenance documentation.
• Support startup, shutdown, and operational activities for utility equipment.
• Ensure utility spaces are maintained in a clean, organized, and inspection-ready condition.
• Follow site safety procedures, GMP requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and maintenance best practices.
• Escalate abnormal operating conditions and equipment concerns to site leadership.
• Assist with contractor coordination and maintenance activities as needed.
• Leave all equipment and work areas in a safe and compliant condition following maintenance activities.

Job description

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within a Central Utility Building (CUB) or utility plant environment.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, compressed air systems, or wastewater treatment equipment.
• GMP-regulated manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout and industrial safety practices.
• Trade school, military technical training, or maintenance certifications preferred.

This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined maintenance professional with experience supporting industrial utilities, building systems, central utility plants, or facility operations. The Utilities Technician will assist with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment inspections, alarm response, and routine operations while learning site-specific systems and procedures. The position is primarily day shift and is intended to provide additional utility coverage, support operational continuity, and ensure critical systems remain reliable when senior utility personnel are offsite.
