Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Utilities Repair Technician for the 2nd shift in Lafayette, IN. You will mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex machines and related equipment in assembly areas, including boilers, HVAC, pumps, conveyors, and ABB robots.

Requires at least 5 years in industrial utilities and repair, with ability to read mechanical prints and perform basic electrical troubleshooting. Overtime is available; relocation incentives may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial utilities and repair experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems and related equipment.
• Experience reading mechanical prints and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Background with boilers, HVAC, pumps, and conveyors is preferred.
• Welding and cutting skills and OSHA-safe work habits are required.

• Mechanically troubleshoot and repair machines and related equipment in assembly areas.
• Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and controllers.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

In this role, you will be responsible to mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machines and related equipment that perform assembly, torque, and material movement functions in the assembly areas. Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair the following types of machines and components: mechanical repairs to utilities, test cells, building and grounds, pump rebuilds, HVAC, boiler operation and assembly maintenance.**Additional Information:*** Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30pm-10:30pm)* Generous lump sum payment for eligible relocating candidates **(up to $15,000)*** Hourly pay range of **$38.52-$49.03** plus **6%** shift premium.
