JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for utility management and projects from concept through implementation. Forecast’s supplier needs, budgets, facility requirements, new technology investment to support company objectives. Coordinates between various functions to ensure all utilities are on target with the forecasted budget.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes utility project objectives and manages collaboration efforts with suppliers on all company utilities and systems to ensure manageable cost.
  • Provide input/feedback based on manageability, variation analysis, and philosophy; plans, organizes and schedules project activities and assignments; coordinates and presents activities with management and other organizations.
  • Manage water, sewer, and power systems to ensure that infrastructure is up-to-date, inspect facilities, and order maintenance repairs as necessary.
  • Ability to read all consumption meters resulting in analyzing data to provide recommendations.
  • Ability to understand and review utility rate structures.
  • Guide and determine utility infrastructure processes, methodology, discrete utility operations and associated standards to be used for sub-metering and management.
  • Oversees projects and communicates changes and budget projections for new projects; analyzes system performance and makes necessary process improvement recommendations to keep task on target. Ability to create cost benefit analysis on applicable projects.
  • Provides technical guidance to initiate and drive Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) on issues related to systems, material, equipment, specifications and processes.
  • Identifies and communicates recommendations regarding supplier or maintenance arrangements for improvements and equipment flow.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of work performed.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with utility industry, regulatory agencies and internal customers.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Management, Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience required, preferably in the utility industry.

  • Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired.
