Responsibilities:
- Maintain a daily log of metrics such as water quality tests, boiler function, safety checks, water and chemical usage.
- Support co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, engineers, and others to facilitate project and renovation work.
- Read and understand information in various documents and on computer screens.
- Operate office equipment and use a computer to access databases, send/receive messages, and prepare documents.
- Operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems, including mechanical systems, steam heating systems, water systems, ventilation, refrigeration, and solvent systems.
- Perform service and preventive maintenance on chillers, circulating pumps, control valves, and make necessary repairs or coordinate repairs.
- Check temperature, pressure gauges, and water levels to ensure proper operation of boilers, cooling towers, fan coils, heaters, pumps, and feed water tanks.
- Monitor and log readings of high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related equipment.
- Assist plumbing or HVAC journeymen in installing and repairing boiler house equipment as needed.
- Operate, maintain, and repair boilers and auxiliary equipment, including water RO systems, boiler controls, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain and repair heating and ventilating units, including piping at the units.
- This position involves climbing.
- Familiarize with the Utility Monitoring System (e.g., BAS) to monitor, control, and trend plant equipment performance.
