City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Utilities Mechanic to install, maintain, fabricate, and repair mechanical equipment in water treatment plants and pump stations. This role performs preventative maintenance and inspections, reviews manuals to plan PMs, and uses hand and power tools to fabricate parts.
The position may require standby duty for emergencies and involves working around medium voltage and hazardous chemicals.
A Utilities Mechanic installs, maintains, fabricates, and repairs/troubleshoots and performs related preventative maintenance and inspections on mechanical equipment employed in the operation of water treatment plants, pump stations, or related areas.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The position involves medium physical demands, such as exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Ability to lift, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel and climb ladders up to 30 feet in performing a variety of job-related tasks. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
