The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a vacancy in the Sanitary Sewer/Storm Drainage Systems Divisions of the Public Works Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Initial position and salary of the selected candidate will be based on previous work experience and valid licenses/certificates.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The City of Woodland is looking to fill a Utilities Maintenance Worker I/II position in the Public Works Sanitary Sewer/Storm Drainage Systems Division. The Ideal Candidate for the current vacancy is someone who has a good understanding of all aspects of underground sewer/storm drain maintenance and repairs and is familiar with the operation of light and heavy equipment. This position requires a “team player” with good interpersonal, time management, and communication skills. Candidate must be able to follow direction and display good judgment, as well as be organized, flexible, approachable, resourceful, and a positive team contributor. Current and valid distribution certifications and Class A/B commercial driver’s license are highly desirable.
Utilities Maintenance Worker I:
This is the entry level class in the Utilities Maintenance Worker series. The Utilities Maintenance Worker I often performs many of the duties required of Utilities Maintenance Worker II but is not expected to have the depth of experience, skill level and certifications of the Utilities Maintenance Worker II. As a result, the Utilities Maintenance Worker I will have fewer opportunities to exercise independent discretion and judgment on matters related to work procedures and methods.

This is the journey level in the Utilities Maintenance Worker series. This class differs from Utilities Maintenance Worker I in that incumbents perform more complex maintenance duties including working independently, exercising judgment
