Job summary

Insight Global in Norwood, MA, is seeking a Senior Utility Maintenance Technician to own uptime and reliability of critical site utilities for pharmaceutical manufacturing. You will troubleshoot RODI, pH neutralization, HVAC/AHU, chilled/hot water, compressed air, inert gases, vacuum, lab/process exhaust, and hydronic systems, while performing root cause analysis and CMMS documentation.

You will lead contractor oversight, manage inventory, develop SOPs, and ensure safe, GMP-compliant operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supporting utilities in pharma, biotech, or GMP environments.
• RODI generation & distribution systems experience.
• pH neutralization systems experience.
• HVAC/AHU troubleshooting and controls experience.
• BMS/controls troubleshooting and trend analysis.
• Ability to read P&IDs, one-lines, and O&M manuals.
• Pumps & motors (alignments, seals, bearings, VFDs).
• Plumbing & piping (valves, pressure testing, line breaks).
• Basic electrical troubleshooting (controls, sensors, VFDs).
• Experience with chilled water, hot water, compressed air, vacuum, and hydronic systems.
• MA Wastewater Operator License (Grade II+).
• Boiler Operator License.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
• Advanced BMS controls experience.
• RODI sanitization, TOC, conductivity, and micro trending.
• Utility SOP/MOP development.
• Contractor oversight and equipment commissioning.
• GDP/ALCOA+ documentation experience.
• Reliability, root cause, and continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Own uptime and troubleshooting for critical site utilities in a GMP setting.
• Perform root cause analysis, BMS troubleshooting, and trend analysis.
• Manage CMMS work orders, asset history, and inventories; oversee contractors.
• Develop SOPs and ensure safe, compliant utility operations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot RODI, pH neutralization, HVAC/AHU, chilled/hot water, and related systems.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Job Description

The Senior Utility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical site utilities supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role owns uptime and troubleshooting for RODI systems, pH neutralization, HVAC/AHUs, chilled/hot water, compressed air, inert gases, vacuum, lab/process exhaust, and hydronic systems. Responsibilities include root cause analysis, BMS troubleshooting and trending, pump/motor maintenance, plumbing and piping repairs, SOP development, CMMS documentation, contractor oversight, inventory management, and ensuring safe, compliant utility operations within a regulated GMP environment.

Compensation: $49/hr to $52.08/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.
