Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Utilities Equipment Repairer to maintain and repair utilities equipment and support systems on and off duty. Training includes hands-on work with electric motors, electrical equipment, and engine systems.

You will complete 10 weeks of Basic Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid training, tuition assistance, and retirement benefits for part‑time service. A civilian-skilled career path can emerge after military training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair utilities equipment and special‑purpose support systems.
• Inspect and repair electric motors and electrical equipment.
• Inspect and repair electric instruments, replace worn gaskets and seal watertight electrical equipment.
• Maintain and repair gasoline engine systems, air conditioner electrical systems, and portable heater fuel/electrical systems.
