Job summary

El Super is hiring a Utilities Clerk for Phoenix (#8) to support the Produce Department and assist customers on the store floor. Starting rate is $16.00 per hour, and duties include bagging groceries, carrying items for customers, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds, readiness to work in a fast-paced grocery setting, and basic PC/Outlook skills. This position is part of the El Super store operations team under Chedraui USA.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups to customers and coworkers.
• Apply common sense to detailed but simple instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, up to 45 pounds, and up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper store maintenance, especially Produce Department.
• Bag groceries for customers and help with carry-out when needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety at all times.
• Retrieve store carts and run price checks.
• Assist with go-backs and check stand upkeep.
• Remove waste from the parking area.

The Opportunity

To assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department and assist customers on the store floor as needed. The Utilities Clerk will properly bag groceries for customers when needed. If requested, they will carry out groceries for customers. The Utilities Clerk is responsible for the store maintenance to ensure the store is clean and safe at all times. They will maintain and retrieve store carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area. The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
