Job summary

El Super is seeking a Utilities Clerk for Tucson #10. The role supports the Produce Department and helps customers on the floor. Starting rate is $16.00 per hour, with physical duties including lifting and standing for extended periods.

The Utilities Clerk will bag groceries, carry out groceries when needed, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment. This is a fast-paced grocery setting requiring reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one or small-group settings.
• Follow written or oral instructions with attention to detail.
• Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper store maintenance, especially in the Produce Department.
• Bag groceries for customers and carry out groceries when needed.
• Maintain store carts and perform price checks.
• Assist with go-backs and check stand upkeep.
• Remove waste from the parking area and keep areas clean.

The Opportunity

To assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department and assist customers on the store floor as needed.

The Utilities Clerk will properly bag groceries for customers when needed. If requested, they will carry out groceries for customers. The Utilities Clerk is responsible for the store maintenance to ensure the store is clean and safe at all times. They will maintain and retrieve store carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
