Job summary

The World Resources Institute seeks an entrepreneurial leader to advance Utah's watershed resilience portfolio within the U.S. Forests and Water program.

You will coordinate partners, manage multi-stakeholder projects, and help secure funding for restoration and wildfire risk reduction. This full-time permanent role requires a master's degree or equivalent, at least five years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills to translate analyses into compelling proposals.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in natural resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience developing and managing complex multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Experience securing grants, developing funding proposals, or managing fundraising initiatives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Greater Salt Lake region and occasionally elsewhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management & Coordination: Lead the implementation of watershed resilience strategies and coordinate Utah partners and stakeholders.
  • Conservation Finance & Beneficiary Engagement: Develop and sustain relationships with utilities, municipalities, funders, and other investors to fund resilience projects.
  • Fundraising, Writing & Communications: Draft grant proposals, develop donor relationships, and represent WRI at conferences and stakeholder events.
