Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in Utah seeks a visionary Utah State Director to lead the Utah Business Unit and partner with colleagues across the Western US and Canada. The role is based in Salt Lake City with hybrid options and ~40% travel.

You will drive conservation priorities and lead fundraising to support the BU’s ambitious agenda. Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years of senior management experience, Utah familiarity, and strong communication with donors, Tribal Nations, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; seven+ years of senior management experience.
• Experience leading a large multi-disciplinary team and driving performance.
• Experience working in Utah and in natural resources or environment.
• Strong strategic planning and systems thinking for large initiatives.
• Financial experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets; effective fundraising.
• Excellent written and oral communication with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Utah Business Unit as visionary leader and senior manager.
• Partner with Western US and Canada Division to execute conservation goals.
• Oversee policy/government relations, fundraising, and finance with BU leaders.
• Be the primary local spokesperson and cultivate donor and partner relationships.
