Job Description
This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring patient-centered care improvements. The National Director of Clinical Operations provides clinical and quality support to facilities, including regulatory compliance, safety culture promotion, survey preparation, policy updates, and clinical initiatives. The Clinical Operator acts as a resource for developing action plans, process changes, and clinical integration initiatives.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  1. Collaborate with USPI Clinical Services for clinical due diligence on new acquisitions and de novo projects, including site visits and assessments.
  2. Communicate survey findings and participate in leadership report-outs, identifying high-risk issues and mitigation plans.
  3. Coordinate physician engagement for medical leadership.
  4. Support clinical operations during facility acquisitions or startups, including onboarding and training.
  5. Design quality and safety improvement initiatives utilizing CMS and Joint Commission data.
  6. Assist facility Quality Managers in reviewing safety and quality outcomes and ensuring follow-up.
  7. Conduct improvement audits to verify data integrity and quality.
  8. Help develop policies related to quality, safety, and regulations.
  9. Act as a coach and resource in quality improvement, safety, and nursing practices.
  10. Foster professional development among clinical staff.
  11. Oversee clinical operations across multiple facilities and ensure compliance.
  12. Develop and implement clinical protocols and policies.
  13. Monitor performance metrics and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
  14. Serve as a liaison between leadership, administrative, and clinical teams.
  15. Stay informed on healthcare environment changes and act in the best interest of Tenet/USPI.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of quality improvement, clinical outcomes, and medical terminology in hospital and outpatient settings.
  • Recent leadership experience in hospital or outpatient surgery centers, with a focus on improving systems and patient experience.
  • Analytical skills for audits, education, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Effective communication across all stakeholder levels.
  • Registered Nurse License required; bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field required; master’s preferred. Operating Room experience is a strong plus.

Travel Requirements

  • 75% travel within Tennessee. An MVR check will be conducted on the final candidate.
