Job summary

Peltier Subaru in Tyler, Texas is seeking a dependable Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair pre-owned vehicles to ensure safety and reliability. You’ll perform inspections, oil changes, brake and tire services, and communicate repair needs to management.

Qualifications

• Experience as automotive technician or mechanics preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to properly operate automotive tools and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections on pre-owned vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and safety-related concerns.
• Complete necessary repairs and maintenance to prepare vehicles for the lot.
• Perform oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, fluid services, battery replacements, and other general automotive repairs.
• Identify additional repairs or maintenance needed during inspections.
• Work efficiently to help maintain a quick turnaround time on used vehicle inventory.
• Document inspections, repairs, and recommended work accurately.
• Communicate with management regarding vehicle condition and repair needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.
• Help ensure every pre-owned vehicle meets Peltier Subaru’s standards before being offered to customers.
